Z3 compact back and home button not working after recent update

My back and home button not working now after. 5. 1.1 update.

Hi,

I'm no expert but the following worked for me.

It seems an app was installed or upgraded that invisibly smothered the screen and prevented interaction.

1. Goto Settings / Apps / Settings (cogwheel) / Draw over other apps / Change all the apps to "No".
2. If you have installed the "Back Button" app, goto Settings / Accessibility / Back Button / Turn off.

The above got it working again - just.

Then goto Settings / Display / Glove mode / Turn on.

Sony, quit replying solutions containing bovine excrement. There is clearly no issue with hardware, these phones have no cracks in the screens, they are not repaired by any service centre, nor has any fault been discovered in the touch screen operation.

You have a real software issue at your hands here and tell the community what's the technical background (most people seem less ignorant and more savvy at troubleshooting than you) and when you plan to solve it.

And why has this topic been put on 'solved' in the first place. Some real answers please if you want to maintain your userbase.

My back/home buttons work, but the lower middle (left side, around E and R) is starting to not detect touch--along with the top part of my screen.

unfortunately i have the same problem, i gave it to technicians they change the screen yet problem not resolved. They told defective motherboard.

Dear Sony Xperia team,
I now have the very same issue with my Xperia z3. All three buttons below are not working. BUT, in lock screen this side DOES work. no damage, worked fine until this morning and then suddenly the buttons stopped.

Since I am travelling I cannot just contact my local supplier. Could you please give me a solution and asap.

Download SOFT KEY ENABLER for rooted phones.... It will definately fix the problem

^ Exactly what's happening to my Z3 Compact.  Bottom part of touch screen works when on lock screen, but not when unlocked... It's driving me mad!

Mine is also not working....I had a work around for the drop down menu but now the home and back buttons not working.  This is a real pain.  My phone is only 2 years old. The work around for the home buttons is an app called Back button, but I shouldn't have to download apps to be able to use my fairly new phone.
