Z4 Signal Loss Vibrate

Z4 Signal Loss Vibrate

The latest FW upgrade seems to have provided the following irritating 'feature':

Whenever my Z4 loses or regains reception, it vibrates twice at me. This is very annoying and unnecessary, and how do I turn this 'feature' off?

Unfortunately, there isn't a way to disable that.

This needs to get fix I just did a road trip that lead through the Rockies and my phone was vibrating way too much do to loss or service

This is how I noticed it, but my roadtrip was through East Sussex, rather than the Rockies.

@uliwooly -- what is the protocol for bringing this issue to the official Sony development team? I've seen the Android Development forum acknowledge known issues, but so far in my limited time here, I've not seen a Sony acknowledgement. Thinking_Face

We don't have any general notification for signal loss so this sounds a bit strange.

Does this also happen when the phone is in safe mode?

Hi!

I have a Sony Z2 (D6503) running Android 5.1.1.

I have same issue since last major software update. Every time the phone is losing or regaining mobile operator signal it gives a notification sound - same as receiving a text message or whatsapp message.

It is very annoying especially when you travel in the underground or getting in/out of elevators in the building.

I used your advice to restart in SafeMode and the issue persists so it is related to Android core not a third party App.

If I have the phone on silet it will vibrate when losing/recovering 3G or 4G signal.

If I'm listening music it will stop music and play the notification sound after that music continues..

Best regards,

Mihai

@PetroNET

Could you please send me a private message with the IMEI of your phone?

Would it be possible for you to try making a software repair using PC Companion and see if that helps?
