Unwanted audio description of input source and channel details

Re Sony KD48A9

Out of the blue when I switched the TV on today, there is an audio description of the input source and channel details on every button press on the remote control  Useful for a blind man but not required at this time!

Can anyone tell me how to switch it off please?

I expect you pressed the button for this on your remote by accident, and toggled it on.

Look for a button on your remote with AD written on or under it and press it, to toggle it off again.

Hi, I've sorted it out.

I now know that it is called Screen Reader

Here is how, Settings/Device Preferences/Accessibility/Screen Reader-- toggle on/off.

The odd things is how it came to be activated in the first place and why it took two restarts to allow me to access "Device Preference" options.

I'm not aware how it can be accessed directly by a remote control button.

Accessibility has a shortcut function so you can turn it on or off by pressing and holding the

Mute button on the remote control for 3 seconds”.

Did you press Mute, hang on too long, and then what you thought you were pressing next after a quick Mute actually enabled that setting in Accessibility?
