Lost Backup with Android Gingerbread upgrade

Hi all,

I got the new Anfdroid Gingerbread upgrade last night, but have only just found out that the the back up I ran using the the SE app will not be accessible after running the upgrade!!

Can anyone please let me know if any of the apps on android market can pick up my backup and restore it to my X10, as I've basically now got a phone with no contacts, apps, messages or any data what so ever on it!!! HEEEEELLLLPPP!!!

once you restore them, check this other apps to backup sms/mms

SMS/MMS

if you don't want to use the backup & restore app then

Install "backup SMS" to back up your SMS and MMS to your Gmail

"backup & restore SMS"

Thanks for the quick reply.

I tried as you suggested, but the problem remains: Error at 3% (on both backup versions) when restoring only text messages.

Any ideas?

PS: Way ahead of you on the 3rd party backup software. I'm never running any SE exclusive app again.

Thanks for your tips. I had the same issue with backup and restore not being installed using the SE way but downloading the apk manually worked a charm!!! Thanks a ton

Hi Uliwooly, my issue is can't download the Backup & restore V010935.apk from megaupload. Would there be any other website or link I can get this file. Hope you can help me, a million thanks!!

many thanks for your quick reply, I got the file, follow your instruction and put it into the X10. Much regret I try to install it but it can't complete(Showing ~ Application not installed). Do you know why this happen? Exhausted!!

Is the file i download from that link is differ from the one in Mageupload? Hopefully can fix it today, couldn't sleep:(

that happened to me before when I installed it on the Arc, what I did was to downloaded it directly from my phone and it worked just fine

on you X10 go to this site

and download the file

use OI File Manager on your X10 -> click on Download -> tap on backup & restore -> install it
