Lost Backup with Android Gingerbread upgrade

Hi all,

I got the new Anfdroid Gingerbread upgrade last night, but have only just found out that the the back up I ran using the the SE app will not be accessible after running the upgrade!!

Can anyone please let me know if any of the apps on android market can pick up my backup and restore it to my X10, as I've basically now got a phone with no contacts, apps, messages or any data what so ever on it!!! HEEEEELLLLPPP!!!

Cheers

Odub

How to install it

You need to

go to settings -> applications -> check unknown sources

download IO File Manager

https://market.android.com/details?id=org.openintents.filemanager&feature=search_result

download the backup & restore app, transfer it to your SD card, use OI file manager to find it -> tap on it -> install it

Hey everyone. I`m getting a similar problem to other people here as well, in terms of not being able to install it. I`ve tried downloading it on my computer and transferring it to my SD card, then installing it with the OI app, but it always seems to say "Application Not Installed". Is there anything I can do to fix this? The .apk file I downloaded was about 2.28 in size...

Thank you!

I installed this on my phone without using a computer or file manager. It was a while ago, but very straightforward. I just allowed the installation of non-market applications and downloaded the file from one of uliwooly's links. When it had finished loading on to the phone, it asked if I wished to install it. I said yes, and the app is more happily installed on my phone.

Have you and others tried this? It is by far the easiest way to do so if it works for you. I haven't rooted my phone or anything else unusual.
