Could this work as Tv out for Xperia U,

it says that with this cable you can connect your phone comfortably on all devices with RCA input like TV, Stereo System, DVD Player and others. You can listening music, viewing pictures and watching movies.

How can it process display, with 3.5 mm jack?

I think audio wil work without problems, and any aux cable can do that.

Unfortunately Xperia U is not listed as compatible with the IM700 cable.
