Xperia U charging instead of updating during ICS update.

Hi

I'm trying to update my Xperia U to ICS using the Sony Update Service on Windows 7, but at the point where you hold the volume down button and insert the USB cable, half the green notification light comes on and the phone starts charging instead of updating, even if the phone is almost fully charged. I've tried reinstalling the drivers and SUS, but it hasn't helped. Please help!

I eventually got fed up and tried the update on my wife's laptop (which happened to be a Mac) and it worked perfectly, so it must have been an issue with my PC in some form.
