I have purchased a Sony VFG-APL1 and on the box there is a sticker saying that I can download the "the way I am" album of Ana Johnsson for free by registering my product. The terms & conditions mention that it is valid until 31st May.

I have completed the registration, but still I cannot figure out how to download it. I would appreciate if you could help me out!

I got an email from Vaio-link saying that it is not thier fault and this is more of a marketing issue. I should therefore contact Sony Style.

Fine, I phoned Sony Style and at the beginning the person I was speaking to did not know anything about Connect. After I explained him, I was told that this is Connect's fault as they did not honour the promotion.

Next step was to phone Vaio link and explain what is going on. After telling this story, I was told that my product is not registered with Vaio-link. I registered it and they escalate it. I had a look at their site, as in the past I couldn't find where to register it, and after a lot of searching I discovered that in the register area I can choose beween Vaio desktop & laptop. No option for Vaio pocket....

Why do I have to register my product with Vaio-link and Vaio club....couldn't I just register it once????

Why all this confusion, which has resulted me going from pillar to post???

I guess it is the same thing as with the case. In most online descriptions, there is no indication that it comes with a case. The Sony brochure however that I picked up from my local Sony Centre mentions that it does come with a case. When I went to Dixons, they said that it doesn't! I bought it from John Lewis, where the person I spoke to at the beginning said that it comes with a case. Afterwards, when I finally decided to buy it, the person that helped me out was not aware of it.....:smileyliar:

ohh and of course considering the costs of all the phonecalls and time spent, it would be cheaper to buy the album......

This promo has been going for a long time, people were downloading it when the VP came out last year, so I have a feeling SonyStyle ended it.

You're not missing much, she's not very good, she's no Avril Lavigne!

I would contact Connect and ask them why you can't have it though, very unfair that they didn't clearly state it was over.

Thanks for the reply. Well, the terms & conditions state that this promotion is valid until the end of May. Therefore, I am entitled to it. I agree that she is not the best artist and I don't care. It is a matter that I want what I am entitled to it.

I guess it is also a good test for finding out what the Sony & Connect support is like. Connect directs me to Vaio-link, the Vaio-link to Sony Style, then Sony Style to Connect.....etc.

Great, but why so many interfaces with lack of communication between each other?

Now, I received an email fom Connect that the code should be under My Profile in the club-vaio site. It is NOT.

At least I was lucky to get the case, which is not included in the box and not evry store is aware of.....

I know it's a disgrace.
I remember a few posts about this album ages ago, and the search is really rubbish so I can't find them!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

at last just give up with the case!
sony is stupid enough to have all these different sections and services so that you can t do anything right;dont justify them by spending so much time,money and effort on them!

i know you just want what it is entitled to you vut in the long run its not worth it![no offense]
