Sony xperia downloads apps to the older device

Has anyone else had this kind of problem with your device? My friend bought a newer model of xperia and he kept his older xperia Phone. Well when downloading apps to the newer device, these apps don't appear to that device but they are able to be found from the older one. What to do in this situation?

Are you downloading the apps from Play Store using a browser or via the Play Store app in the new device? If you are using a browser to download the apps, Once you click on download you will be prompted to choose destination for the download. please check if the right model is chosen as destination for the app download.
