Z3 compact back and home button not working after recent update

My back and home button not working now after. 5. 1.1 update.

The problem is software, bacause the game clash royale uses that zone (back and home) and works correctly.

There are many people with this issue and apparently no solution at the horizon.

So, the issue is known since 2015, and still Sony has not provided any solution. To me it looks like there is a delibate ignoring of this issue. It's a shame because otherwise this is a great phone with the longest battery duration I've ever seen for a smart phone (with flight mode on during night battery lasts 1 week for me). So, then it'll probably be either Samsung or Apple for me in the future.

Got my Xperia XZ 6 weeks ago, and now the home button and back button and the other one (can't remember what it is called) not working at all.

WHY DOES THE SECOND POSTER IN THIS THREAD SAYS ITS THE SCREEN AND ITS MARKED AS SOLVED BY SONY?

THIS IS NOT THE REASON IN ANY WAY AT ALL!!!
PROVE: Screen in those areas work perfect for ALL in games using that area.

@princesssueie, in my opinion the class action could be a good idea but... for what I know the class action is for the single nation/state.

Then in every single state the class action should collect more and more users.

There should be someone/some authority that starts the class action.

Unfortunately I don't think this could be easily done

I have the the same issue, after marshmallow 6.0.1 update the following is no-longer working:

On basic diagram numbers:

2. Recent apps

3. Home key

4: Back key

tried reset, repair, now fully back to factory setting without success. Did back up but then when tried to transfer back to phone, it didn't work so now have lost all contacts. What's going on!!
