Sony Xperia Z3 Repair - Likely Cost?

Hello,

I cracked the front of my Z3 Compact this weekend (glass and LCD :-() , to the extent that the touch screen is now non-responsive (bar a small section in the bottom right) and there is a small section in the top corner that is just black. As far as I can tell the phone is still operating perfectly underneath this, if I'm clever with the part of the screen that is still working I can open up the apps menu, see running apps etc and my alarm is still waking me up in the morning...

Obviously this is not covered by the warranty as it is not a manufacturers fault so I was just wondering if anyone has had similar damage to their Z3 Compact and could give me an idea of how much the repair is likely to cost?

Apparently Sony can't give me a quote (or even an estimate) until I send it to them and at that point I would have to pay to get the phone back unrepaired if it was too much for me to pay at the moment.

Sorry to hear about your phone

I'm afraid it's hard to say what the repair will cost before it has been investigated as there may be internal parts that needs to be replaced if the phone has been damaged.

But i checked your account and it looks like you're in the UK? Assuming only the display needs to be replaced, from what i've been able to find, it will cost 101GBP if you order a service from http://repair.sonymobile.com/gb#/

But please note that since warranty and repairs is handled at a local level i can't make any guarantee that the information i have at my location is up to date.
